上一集的相会，无意改变了作曲家戴夫塞维利亚（杰森李 Jason Lee 饰）与三只可爱的花栗鼠艾尔文（贾斯汀朗 Justin Long 配音）、西蒙（马修格雷库伯勒 Matthew Gray Gubler配音）与西奥多（杰西麦卡尼 Jesse McCartney 配音），他们结伴出游，享受音乐的乐趣，当然也闹出不少的乱子和笑话。意外受伤的戴夫将三只小家伙托付给杰姬阿姨，还为他们办了入学手续。但杰姬阿姨也出了事故，艾尔文他们只能和戴夫不着调的侄子托比（扎克瑞莱维 Zachary Levi 饰）混在一起，开始了校园生活，还结识了另外三只美丽可爱的小花栗鼠布列塔妮（克里斯蒂娜艾伯盖特 Christina Applegate 配音）、埃莉诺（艾米波勒 Amy Poehler 配音）与珍妮特（安娜法瑞丝 Anna Faris 饰）。有趣、浪漫且韵律十足的校园故事轻松上演……
